Intimate & Exclusive Weddings
Cuckney House is an irresistibly romantic small wedding venue for up to 50 guests, and our approach allows you to curate a wedding that is unique to you.
The beautiful Georgian Manor has four reception rooms, a panelled ballroom, private landscaped gardens and a walled garden to create the idyllic backdrop for your special day.
When it comes to accommodation, your guests will have the run of the house and its 15 bedrooms, sleeping 31 guests in total. Higher occupancy can be discussed (up to 40 guests).
We also have 9 holiday cottages on the estate that can be hired separately for any additional guests.
The Ceremony
Civil Wedding
Cuckney House is licensed to hold civil ceremonies in our small Edwardian garden pavilion, the kitchen garden, drawing room, dining room or stunning panelled ballroom. A limited number of civil wedding ceremonies are allowed at Cuckney House per year.
Church Wedding
A celebrant will create a bespoke, meaningful ceremony that isn’t religious, and you have full flexibility to choose from our many romantic locations, including the panelled ballroom, the private woodlands, the lawns, or the kitchen garden.
The Reception
The landscaped gardens are idyllic for reception drinks or choose from the bar, drawing room or dining room. The wedding breakfast can take place in the elegant, panelled ballroom, which seats up to fifty or the dining room, which seats up to twenty-eight.
If you prefer informal outdoor dining, you could hire outdoor heaters and create a fairy-lit haven in the walled garden dining area, which seats twenty.
We also have a marquee that can be hired at an additional cost. The house and its five acres of grounds are exclusively yours during your stay, meaning you have full use of all facilities, including the games room, tennis court, two hot tubs, table tennis table and badminton court.
The panelled ballroom makes a great disco /dance floor area, and music can continue until 11 p.m.

Our wedding venue prices include the following, based on fifty guests:
- Two nights’ accommodation in 15 bedrooms (additional daybeds & sofa beds for up to seven children can be made up, and additional slippers / gowns provided)
- Check-in from 3 p.m. / Check-out 11 a.m
- Accommodation for 31 people (40 if sofa beds & daybeds are used)
- Civil or celebrant ceremony in the pavilion, dining room or panelled ballroom
- All linen, towels, and bathrobes
- Bathroom amenities
- Two bottles of Champagne
- Four estate-grown seasonal wildflower arrangements in the reception areas
- Event manager on the day of the ceremony to set up the ceremony, liaise and accompany registrars
- One furniture changeover in the panelled ballroom during the day
- Emergency contact throughout your stay
- Tableware / glassware / white linen / seating / tables for up to 50
- Ceremony chairs for up to 50
- Coffee stations stocked with tea, coffee and milk
- List of recommended suppliers
- Use of the inbuilt sound system
- Continental breakfast hamper to feed 40

Not included
There are separate costs to consider:
- Flowers / decoration – we have some fantastic local florists who can assist with this as prices vary depending on your choice / budget
- Catering – we have a recommended list of local suppliers
- Housekeeping – this can be booked for the morning of the wedding to tidy through the house for you. £120 for the downstairs only, £300 for the full house
- Registrar fees & booking
- Any live music for the ceremony or in the house for the evening in addition to our existing sound system
- Any additional lighting (naked flame candles are not allowed)
- The hire of additional accommodation on the estate
- Additional night’s stay – from £3,500 per night
